The imidazopyridines I (R = F, R1 = H; R = H, R1 = F; R = R1 = F) and II (R = H, R1 = F; R = R1 = F) were prepd. by treating the chloronitropyridines III (R2-R5 given: Cl, Cl, H, H; Cl, H, H, Cl; H, Cl, H, Cl; Cl, H, Cl, H; Cl, Cl, H, Cl) with KF, reducing the resulting fluoronitropyridines, aminating the aminofluro derivs., and cyclizing the diaminofluoropyridines. I and II are possible bactericides and tumor inhibitors.
